Cimahi, also called as “Bandung Coret”, is a military city that located in Westside of Bandung City. This city is called military city because has many militaries buildings like training centre, military basis, military field and others. Sixty percents city area are army’s property. That’s why Cimahi City get nick name “Kota Hijau”, as according to uniform colour that used by army, especially from TNI AD.

In the year 1886, Dutch Government builds military education facilities at Cimahi with a purpose to brace up military base at Java. After Indonesia independence, Indonesia's armed forces takes over Cimahi City and switches the function as military basic training centre at West Java region. Cimahi at least has seven army schools, that is Pusdik Art (altillery), Pusdik Armed (ground altillery), Pusdik Gumil (military teacher), Pusdik In (infantry), Pusdik Coat (health), Pusdik Pal (practice), Pusdik Bekang (support and transportation) and Pusdik Pom (military police).

Brigif Square is one of the famous military field at Cimahi. Besides as training place armies, this field also functioned as place go on it programme ceremonial. Nowadays Brigif Square change function from military facilities to a civil facilities. Every Sunday, many citizens that living around Brigif Square make use it as running track and even make field hem as trading kiosk.
