The Glass-Making Process
Among the many types of glass available in stores, there are some of them which are known as plate and bottle glass. In order to make them, several steps need to be followed. First of all, sand, soda, and limestone, which are the main ingredients for making a glass, are poured separately into a furnace through pipes. Then, after being perfectly mixed in the furnace, the ingredients are separated into two different processes, one is to produce plate glass, and the other one is to produce bottle glass. To produce a plate glass, the mixed ingredients are poured into a large container, which is connected to a roller through a hole. After the mixed ingredients reach the roller, they are shaped perfectly into a plate glass. On the other hand, the mixed ingredients need to be poured into a removable mould to produce a bottle glass. The ingredients are shaped into a bottle by the mould and after that, air is pumped into the mould in order to form an empty space within the bottle. Next, the bottle-shaped ingredients are left until they are stiff enough. Finally, the mould is removed and the bottle glass is ready to be used.
