Attractions Jakarta Has To Offer

Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and also the largest city in the country, but for me, Jakarta means so much more. It is a place I can truly call ‘home’ since the day I was born. No matter what happens, I believe Jakarta will always have something special to serve to its visitors. That is why I think Jakarta is a one special place to live in.

Jakarta has a lot of tourist attractions I am sure would meet people’s interests. If they want to know more about the fight for Indonesia’s freedom and the country’s famous Declaration of Independence, they can go to “Monumen Nasional” or “Tugu Monas”. Not only they will experience an educational trip, they can also enjoy the beautiful view of Jakarta by simply taking an elevator up to the top floor. If they are interested in having a day of fun in the sun, they can go to “Ancol”. This place includes beach, hotels, a theme park called “Dunia Fantasi” or “Dufan”, a conservation of sea living creatures called SeaWorld, and many more. People can also go to “Taman Mini Indonesia Indah” or “TMII” for more information about Indonesian cultures, such as architectures, clothing, and other forms of tradition. Other recreational facilities, such as museums, cable cars or “kereta gantung”, and a theatre called “Teater Keong Emas”, are also available for visit. For those who are a fan of delicious dishes, Jakarta has varieties of tasty traditional food. Take “Soto Betawi” for example. It is a beefy soup containing thick coconut milk which is best served with tomatoes, boiled potatoes, melinjo crackers which are more commonly known as “emping”, and steamed rice. Besides “Soto Betawi”, there is also “Kerak Telor” which is just as delicious. It is a form of omelette made of sticky rice, egg, and salted dried shrimp or “ebi”. It is served with topping which includes shredded coconuts. After trying out several local delectables, it is best to check out some of the many cultures Jakarta has. The famous ones include “Lenong” and “Ondel-Ondel”. “Lenong” is a form of traditional theatre accompanied with the music from a musical instrument called “Gambang Kromong”. The scenario of “Lenong” contains moral messages. “Ondel-Ondel” is a huge human statue which was believed by the local people to be able to banish evil spirits. Apart from everything mentioned above, Jakarta still has a lot of other interesting sides everyone can enjoy, so if you have spare time, please visit Jakarta to find out more about what this metropolitan city has to offer.
