Two Things that Makes Sukabumi Known

Sukabumi is known for its compactness. It is a small town, almost one-third the size of Bandung. It is loaded with lots of public service buildings, such as hospitals, high schools, town hall, jogging track, markets, and malls; they’re placed in several spots that easy to be accessed. Its citizens seldom experience traffic jam because the streets almost never overloaded with cars. The town is so clean and organized it won Adipura (an award that presented to the cleanest and most organized city); the award can be seen on the top of a big fountain in the center of the town.

Sukabumi is also known for its natural environment. Forest that surrounds it helps maintain fresh air for citizens to breathe. Beyond it, a waterfall lies, which is usually visited by tourists. A river that flows through the town is known to be a famous “arung jeram” (an extreme sport which involve crossing river with a rubber boat) site. There is also a very wide grass field used as camping ground and a tea field that perfect for jogging. And, the white-sand beach in the southern side of the town is so beautiful that Ir. Soekarno chose to erect one of first five star hotels, Samudra Beach, there.
