Kingdom Hearts is an action role-playing game developed and published by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) in 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and VGA video game console. This game is the result of a collaboration between Square and The Walt Disney Company. The game combines characters and settings from Disney's animated features with those characters from the Final Fantasy game series, that developed by Square. The main character in this action adventure genre game is Sora, a 14-year-old boy, together with his two closest friends, Riku and Kairi. He is joined by Donald Duck and Goofy, classic Disney characters, who help him on his quest. In addition, it had an all-star voice cast which included many of the Disney characters' original voice actors. Kingdom Hearts was also supported by the most famous character designer and the pro of SquareEnix company, Tetsuya Nomura. Kingdom Hearts was praised for its unusual combination of action and the usual role-playing style, as well as its unexpectedly mix of Square and Disney. It received year-end "Best" video game awards and achieve Sony "Greatest Hits" status. As the sequel from this popular game, SquareEnix answers the request of the fans by released three series for Kingdom Hearts : Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories (for VGA console), and Kingdom Hearts III.
