Glass Making Process

Glass refers to hard, transparent solid, that has many forms with diferrent uses depend to the form it has. The form that usually be used for general application are bottle glass and plate glass. It is made through several steps in the glass making process. First, it still the same for both glass forms, the inorganic material like sand, soda and limestone are put together into a furnace. In the furnace, the fusion is being heated at high temperature, melted and become some homogen liquid that looks like solution in macroscopic method(colloid). After that, the liquid is distribute into two separated process. In bottle glass making process, the liquid is poured into removable mould, and then filled with air at the center to make the hollow space of the bottle glass. Then the liquid is cooled and harden to a rigid condition without crystallizing, to the bottle form. Finally, the bottle glass could be delivered, usually in packs, to companies. Meanwhile, in the plate glass making process, the liquid is put into some container with small hole in the corner, which is connected with roller machine that make the liquid into plate form. Finally, the liquid is harden, and the well-made plate glass is delivered. Those are the steps of glass making process, with different techniques and main-function for each shape it formed.
