blogging !

Blogging is a kind of activity as writing a diary. Blog, is an electrical diary which is you can access it via internet and it supports you to do blogging. Blogging gives you more benefit rather than you store all of your own idea or stories on your mind only. Moreover, you can attach another files such as pictures, music, playlist, video, etc. inside your blog’s account to complete your written.
Otherwise, blogging activity let you share an opinion or an experience with your pal or family worldwide. A blog account is open for everybody anyway, so those people who read your post, may send you some expression, comment, entertainment, or even a joke mockery, wherever they are.
Blogging also has its bad effect. Though you can do blogging anywhere and anytime you want, this kind of activity will takes you to spend much more times in front of your gadget, because of its addictive side. Yet, blogging may be done anytime so it won’t disturb your primary schedule.

The Definition of Art

Art is one of the constructs that man developed to support values that exist apart from what he considered necessary for his physical survival or comfort—that is, those objects or experiences that produce as aesthetic response. The term art identifies certain objects or experiences as valuable because they are capable of eliciting human responses or judgments about qualities other than those normally associated with morality or the technologically purposeful. These qualities determine the aesthetic characteristics of an object or experience and, when recognized, cause the aesthetic reaction.

Pharmacy

Pharmacy, according to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary, is “the art or practice of preparing, preserving compounding and dispensing drugs”. However, this definition doesn’t include the broad activity that is done in modern pharmacy profession. Some of them are to help the community to use drugs properly and to guarantee the safe and effective usage of drugs. Pharmacy is not just deals with drugs, but pharmacy is also deals with people who are using drugs. This is why the definition of pharmacy is so complex. Modern pharmacy has two sides of interaction. First is the interaction to drugs and the second is the interaction to the patients. It’s the combination of those two that is better to define pharmacy.

BLACKLE

Blackle is custom version of Google search engine developed by Heap Media from Australia. This web has some identical applications with Google but it does not fully belong to Google Incorporation. Different from Google, Blackle has black-colored background with grey text so this web is often known as Black Google. In fact, the use of the dark-colored background is predicted to be able to save 750 megawatt-hour electrical powers. A research has claimed that dark-colored background needs less 20% power than the bright one so Blackle looks more efficient. Unfortunately, according to another research, the energy saving is only valid for CRT screen, not for LCD.

I love to read and discuss

I love to read because reading can get me some knowledge. Sometimes, I discuss the thing I read with my friend. We explore our mind and next, we can get a conclusion about the problem we discussed together.
For example, recently, I had read the novel called “Chosen” it was about the lost diary of Queen Ester. Queen Ester was a Jew woman who became Queen of the Kingdom of Persia who ruled by king Xerxes. At the time, Jews was underestimated and Queen Ester tried to improve the fate of her people and her family. Queen Ester prayed all day long to save her people. In the end of the story, Queen Ester successfully save the fate of her people and her family.
After I read the novel, there was a question in my mind. “Who was actually saved the queen and her people? is it her beauty? On the other hand, is it her God?
I discussed it with my friends and we had concluded that Allah (her God) had saved her life and her people because we thought that the beauty is the one of creation of our Great Creator.

Listening to radio

I like listening to radio. Listening to the radio could make me laugh because the presenters often talking about funny stuffs. From radio, I can know the latest news and movie review every month. Even more, I also can request a song and participate in giving an opinion for topic of the day. By listening to radio, I can still focus on my studying and even more gives me positive environment to study even harder.

However, two things will make me dislike the radio. First, when a bad presenter broadcast in the radio. This happens when the presenter do not have what it takes to attract the listener and when they start imitating other presenter from overseas. Secondly, when they start give horror movie advertisements. Even though, radio gives me any negative mood sometime, but it mostly cheers me up and encourages me a lot.

Jakarta-City of Malls

Malls in Jakarta has become the most favourite place for Jakarta's citizen to spendtime or hangout in weekend or any other sparetime. There are a lot of reasons for that sentence. In many aspects, such as location, facilties, entertainment that its offer and any other reason, Jakarta's malls attract many people to come over them. Now, i'm going to tell you that aspects one by one.
First of all, location aspect. Malls in Jakarta located in many strategic places that easy to reach by any other people. You can easily reach this malls whenever or wherever you want. In every area of Jakarta, there are 2 or more malls. For example, Kelapa Gading area in North Jakarta. This area has 3 big malls which are, Kelapa Gading Mall, Artha Gading Mall, and Sport Mall. This thing happen in other area in Jakarta. So,people in every area don't have to go too far from their house or their office to reach mall to find something that they need. The location of these malls are even close to the neighbour, or close to working place, even close to school, church or other public places. From this fact, you can see that malls are really easy to reach.
Secondly, from the facility aspect. Malls offer you all in one place where you can find everything that you need. In malls you can find a lot of restaurants if you looking for a place to have lunch or dinner with your family or collegues. You can find bookstore, department store, a lot of boutiqes, if you want to go shopping. There are also places like karaoke studio, timezone, or photo studio, if you just looking for fun. Some malls such as Kelapa Gading mall, have gyms or fitness place that always full with people who wants to spend time to exercise after working.Because of all this facilities malls has become a great place to come over if you looking for something you need.
Thirdly, in an entertainment way. These malls offer many kinds of entertainment almost every day. Some malls have such an amphiteather, place to some bands perform every night or every weekend.Others have regular event when sometimes invite some artists that also attract people to visit. This is why malls keep people around every day.
Because of all the reasons above, it's logic why malls become the most favourite place to visit by Jakarta's citizen. So, when you come around in Jakarta, don't forget to visit the mall.Have fun in Jakarta's mall.

Underage Beggars in Jakarta.

In my hometown Jakarta, we can find many of school-aged children on the streets begging for money. This situation occurred because their parents are unable to provide money enough to support their daily needs, so they have to beg and plea in order to fulfill their nutritional and/or educational needs. Or worse, there are some cases in which these children were forced to beg by their parents or some other people because its a common knowledge that the citizens have more sympathy to children beggars than the adult ones. We can find them begging at any time of the day, walking around on their naked feet on the hot street asphalt.

The situation will not improve if we continue to give them money, but educating them might make a change. Because by giving them money, we only encourage them to beg for more, therefore they will have no motivation to make their life any better, and someday their children will also be beggars. And also it will give the unemployed an incentive to beg instead of finding another work, because begging is so easy and profitable. But by educating them, we can give them the knowledge they need to find a proper job and make a living out of it. Furthermore, this action will save the next generation from being beggars too.

Beautiful Farmland in Cirebon

Farmers work happily. Children play on the river. Ladies pick beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, and chilies. There are interesting activities in the farmland.

The sun shines. The sky brightens. Clouds fly. Birds sing. Ducks swim. The water flows on the river. The rice grows. The ground looks so green. Cirebon has very nice farmland.

PARIJS VAN JAVA

My hometown, Bandung, called Parijs Van Java, which means Paris town on Java Island, for many reasons. First, Bandung in the past has affected the youth trend, becoming centre of fashion trend and the best place to shop in Indonesia. A scheduled fashion show from the local designers was usually held in Braga that watched by both of tourists and fashion experts just like in Paris. Bandung’s shopping places are the best and its fashion stuffs became trend in Indonesia. The nice temperature and beautiful scenery with lots of artistic building also the reason why Bandung was called Parijs Van Java. Many foreign tourists loved to spend their holiday in Bandung long time ago. Over all, those similar conditions between Bandung and Paris made Bandung called Parijs Van Java.

Now, although Bandung has becoming an urban city that changes a lot from the period when it is famous by the name Parijs Van Java, it is still becoming one of the best places to shop in Indonesia. Every weekend, especially local foreigners come to visit Bandung to shop on famous shopping place in Bandung such as factory outlets, distro, or just on secondhand market. The factory outlet sells branded fashion with very cheap price because the stuffs are directly from its factory. Distro that the idea originally comes from Bandung has affected the youth fashion trend in Indonesia and become the next big thing in fashion industry as a place to channel the talent of young designers. Bandung also has a famous secondhand market called ‘cimol’ located on Gedebage market that sells secondhand fashion from overseas such as Korea, USA, and Japan with a very cheap price but the stuffs are worth to be on our collection.

Even though Bandung now not as famous as Bandung in the past, the given name Parijs Van Java still reflect Bandung the way it is.

Enjoying Jakarta

My hometown, Jakarta, is the largest city in Indonesia. As the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta has significant roles in providing all aspects for maintaining and progress of the nation. The center of Indonesian government is located here with important buildings like Presidential Palace in Medan Merdeka Barat Street, House of People Representative in Gatot Subroto Street, and foreign nation embassies. Jakarta is also functioned as the center of economic activity with several vital economic centers such as: Jakarta Stock Exchange and Central Bank of Indonesia. Socially, Jakarta is known as a melting pot. We can find almost every ethnicity from Indonesia here.

There are many ways of enjoying Jakarta. If you want to know more about history of the city, you can take a small tour to Kota area. There you can see the museum of the city called Fatahillah Museum which shows us how was Jakarta’s condition in the colonial era. Not far from Fatahillah Museum, there are Puppet Museum and Bank Museum. If you are a person who likes to shop a lot, Jakarta offers you its fascinating shopping places, for instance: Mangga Dua, Tanah Abang, Mal Taman Anggrek where you can buy export quality goods with relatively cheap price. For people who love doing adventure, there is Dunia Fantasi or Dufan to go to. Another place worth seeing is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah which resembles Indonesia in miniature. After exhausted walking around the city, you can find some good food at Ancol Bay to enjoy seafood or Kemang with various kind of food from Indonesia and other countries. There are various modes of transportations in Jakarta, from bajaj, taxi, train, and the recent public transportation is bus way. This new public transportation has already more than ten routes operating to all directions from north to south, from west to east. The fare is affordable to most people, Rp.3.500, for one transferable trip.

Talking about Jakarta is not always on the highlights. As a big city, Jakarta has a lot of problems, starting from the imbalance of population with limited public infrastructure and services, sanitation, flooding, and of course heavy traffic jam in most part of the city. Flooding is always the main issue of Jakarta in every rainy season. Although there still a lot of thing to be fixed, the government of Jakarta under the newly elected governor, attempts hard to make Jakarta a better, safe, healthy, and comfortable place to live.

Know More About My Hometown, Jakarta

My hometown, Jakarta, is not a city but a province with special status as the capital of Indonesia. It has a long history that involve many nations so far, with such a great natural and human source. If you want to take some time to visit it, you have to trully understand the potential and the situation that it has. Started with its history, culture, arts, and even transportation in Jakarta.

Jakarta, as the capital city of Indonesia, formerly known as Sunda Kelapa. Afterwards on 22 June 1527, Fatahillah changed the name of Sunda Kelapa into Jayakarta, which is commemorated as the date of birth of the Jakarta city. The name of Jayakarta was then changed into Batavia, and lastly Djakarta, that we use nowadays. In 1966, Jakarta was declared a "special capital city district" , thus gaining a status approximately equivalent to that of a state or province. Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, envisaged Jakarta as a great international city, with openly nationalistic government and modernist project building. One of the projects include monuments, such as The National Monument, symbol of Jakarta.

Located on the northwest coast of the Java island, Jakarta is known as the biggest and the most crowded city in Indonesia. Due to the population of 9 million people consisting of various ethnic groups from all over Indonesia, Jakarta attracts many foreigners as well as domestic immigrants. The influence by foreign nation produces the diversity of art and culture, even languanges. The ethnic of Jakarta is mostly made by two largest groups of population, the Betawi and a significant Chinese community, that make up 6% of the Jakarta population.

The major transportation in Jakarta mostly are car and motorcycles. But it also provides trains, planes, or traditional transportations such as bajaj, and carriage. Despite the presence of many wide roads, Jakarta suffers from congestion due to traffic jams. It is well known for indisiciplined diver behaviour, many transportation law are broken and police are not do their work properly, which invites protest from citizens. Based on this situation, some method to reduce traffic jams is taken. For example, prohibiting fewer than three passengers per car on certain roads, made underpass for some road. The other way was build Transjakarta, service operator on a special bus-line called the busway, which is optimized for busy city routes.

That’s some explanation about the fact and condition in my hometown, Jakarta. Hope this information will help you to understand Jakarta better than before.

BANDUNG: CITY OF TRASH

Bandung, my hometown, is a city surrounded by mountains and has relatively year-around cooler temperature than most other cities in Indonesia. As the fourth largest city in Indonesia that has a total population of around 2.5 million people, the government of Bandung are facing a harsh reality. This population explosion happens because of a rapid development and urbanization that has transformed Bandung from idyllic town into a dense 15.000 people/km² metropolitan area after Indonesia's independence. Bandung has become a small metropolitan city filled with buildings. The large number of citizen, added also by the large number of tourists coming every week has continually change Bandung. Natural resources have been exploited for residential development, more vehicles were consumed but not supported by the traffic facilities, and the irresponsible attitude of Bandung’s citizens and tourists with their environment . These realities can easily cause many problems, such as traffic, flood, and the most disturbing problem recently, trash.

Bandung is in the middle of a serious garbage crisis, with 200.000 m2 of trashed piled along its streets that caused by Bandung city’s official's mismanagement. The problem, blamed on a lack of final dumping sites, has been going on for the past month. Now there are only two temporary dumping sites in Cicabe and Pasir Impun after Leuwigajah dumping site was closed because of a garbage landslide in 2004. And they are now rejecting incoming garbage. It shows that there are less dumping sites in Bandung comparing to the collection of 8.000 m3/day domestic garbage piled up. This problem causes air pollution, spread diseases, and water contamination, especially in the area around mountains of garbage that we can find almost everywhere. It also affects Bandung’s tourism. If this phenomenon continued, it’s possible that the number of tourists visiting Bandung will decrease. Fortunately, the government has start working to develop a garbage-powered electricity plant in Gedebage area as solution to trash problem. Let’s hope that the trash problem will be solved as soon as possible, because I want my hometown, Bandung that is named by people as The Flower City, back as it used to be.

THE CITY WHERE I LIVE...

I love living in Bandung. Bandung is a chilly place, especially when it’s rainy, it can reach 15oC in the morning. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the people are very friendly. There are a lot of interesting places where I can go,like Jalan Braga, Gedung Sate, Gedung Merdeka, which are a historical places and another places with a great view, such as Lembang, Tangkuban Perahu, and many more. the foods in bandung are very delicious, i usually go 'wisata kuliner' with my friends looking for a delicious culinary.

It’s quite cheap to live in Bandung. I can find a lot of delicious food here with a reasonable price. I can buy fashionable clothes without cost me a lot. There are places with a fascinating view I can go which are free of charge. I can go to the movie and watch great movies with a cheap price, especially on Monday to Thursday, I only have to pay about Rp. 10,000.00 to Rp. 15,000.00. The rate of the transporting in Bandung are not expensive, so I still can go somewhere and having fun with a limited budget.

Bandung is one of the most favorite destination for tourists, especially tourists who come from another city in West Java. So many people like to come to Bandung especially on weekend and holiday seasons. Bandung is like a ‘one stop shop’ for domestic and foreign tourists. Here we can find various kinds of food and fashion. Those two things are the most common reason for people who come to Bandung. In other word, we can say that people come to Bandung to go shopping and refreshing.

One of the most favorite shopping destinations in Bandung is Gasibu. On the work days, Gasibu, which located in front of ‘Gedung Sate’, is just a common sport field. People come there to jog or to stroll around the field. But there is a big difference on Sunday. The sport field becomes a shopping center. Various things are sold there such as shoes, bags, foods, clothes, and accessories. The price there isn’t expensive and we still can make the price cheaper if we want. Because of that reason, Gasibu is always crowded and become the most bustling area every Sunday morning.

Beside the shopping area, Bandung also has another place that worth visiting such as Tangkuban Parahu Mountain. It is located in Lembang, a famous region in north Bandung. my hometown, Jakarta, with its problems

Jakarta, located on the northwest coast of Java island, has become the most populous city in Indonesia. As the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta only has an area of 661.52 km² and contains more than 23 million people. But many people from other cities are still interested to come to Jakarta to get a better life, so Jakarta becomes overpopulated. Jakarta’s growth population has been increase rapidly. It becomes one of the major problems that can make other problems like transportation, pollution, housing problems, and many more. Some of these problems can’t be solved well by Jakarta’s government until now.

The high density of people needs a good transportation to travel in Jakarta, but Jakarta is being inadequate for providing this necessary transportation for the Jakarta citizens. Because of that, transportation becomes one of the important problems that should be solved immediately by the government. Vehicle users are growing at a rate of 10% a year. Although Jakarta has many wide roads, the traffic congestion is still routinely happened there, especially during rush hours. To reduce this traffic congestion, the government has tried many ways like introduce the new TransJakarta bus system, which also known as Busway. TransJakarta has been officially operational since January 2004. TransJakarta serve the busy city road especially in the central business district. The fare price is cheap enough, only Rp. 3500, 00 and you can travel around Jakarta.

Urbanization has made Jakarta more congested and problematic than other big cities in Indonesia. Despite many problems that Jakarta have, Jakarta is also has another good things that makes me enjoy my childhood and teenage period there. With the high density population, Jakarta has become a developed city as a centre of concentration of Indonesia’s wealth. Eventhough Jakarta is really crowded and has a never ending problems, I will always miss and love my hometown, Jakarta.

Jakarta, City with a Lot of Social Problems

With population over than 9 millions people and only 740,42 km2 wide, worsened by uncontrollable urbanization and massive population growth, Jakarta citizen now facing serious problems with their social life.

The first and biggest Jakarta’s social problem is criminality. Everyday, we can see all kind of criminality always happen on news and newspaper, from robbery, murder, prostitution, and other criminality. Based on POLDA Jakarta’s data, The criminality level in Jakarta increasing 2, 71% from last year, with robbery 3502 cases, heavy persecution 959 cases, robbery with violence 880 cases, threat 276 cases, and murder 33 cases. For the last few years, Jakarta’s criminality level always increasing.

The second social problem is unemployment. Based on Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) This year unemployment level is increasing by 12,57%. That level is higher than 10 years ago with 11, 40%. This condition caused by urbanization from other city. Badan Pusat Statistik also predict that unemployment level number will always increasing for the next another years. That means, there are going to be more people unemployed for the next another years.

The third social problem is squatters. There are nearly more than 800 squatters areas in Jakarta. But local government has just only disciplined 10% of total areas. Local government always facing problems when disciplined squatters, because they have to give another worthy place to stay for them.

There are still a lot of social trouble in Jakarta other than that three. But I hope that local government and all Jakarta’s citizen including me can solve all that problems, so my hometown, Jakarta will be a cozy place to stay.
