Ballet

According to online Wikipedia, ballet is a formalized form of dance with its origins in the Italian Renaissance court, further developed in France and Russia as a concert dance form. Ballet is a mixture of graceful, flowing movements combined with orchestral music. The dancers usually wear tights and a leotard (which can come in various colors and styles), with an optional short wrap-skirt (or tutu) for women, and tights along with a form-fitting shirt for men. The dancer wears soft technique shoes, often called flats through their classes. During performances, the women wear custom shoes, called pointe shoes, while men learn more advanced jumps and turns in soft shoes. The movements of ballet are known in French, for example pas de deux (a dance of two people), pas de trois (a dance of three people), pirouette (a rapid spin of the toes), etc. Ballet is a theatrical representation of a story which has its own plots and characters. The famous ballet productions including Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, La Sylphide, and others are still presented in theatres all over the world.
